A top Massachusetts Republican fund-raiser who publicly confronted Texas Gov. George W. Bush about his use of alcohol is facing drunken driving charges after he was found slumped over the wheel of his Mercedes.
Alexander "Sandy" Tennant, 48, was arrested by Brookline police May 20 after a newspaper delivery person reported his luxury car idling at an intersection at 5 a.m., according to court records and police sources.
Police found Tennant inside the white Mercedes, with his foot on the brake, at the intersection of St. Paul and Browne streets.
