A truck carrying ring-making equipment arrived at the Jostens Inc. jewelry plant in Attleboro yesterday, greeted by a cheering crowd of workers.
It marked the return of some 200 seasonal jobs to a once-thriving jewelry center buffeted by what H. Ross Perot called the "sucking sound" of American jobs being siphoned off to Mexico. Based in Minneapolis, Jostens brought the equipment back in hopes it can save money by returning ring-making work to Attleboro it shipped to Mexico two years ago.
