BRADENTON, Fla. -- Nomar Garciaparra is probably taking no chances with his ailing right elbow and that's why he's taken leave of spring training and headed to the West Coast for a second opinion.
And why shouldn't he?
He's looking at a promising career that's going to earn him a ton of money.
So why take any chances that something, left untreated, even for a few days, could put him a position that might jeopardize the future?
Red Sox nation is understandably worried, not to mention manager Jimy Williams, general manager Dan Duquette and the rest of the organization.
Garciaparra's already been anointed a superstar by his GM ...
