Boston Bed & Bath is closing its doors after 28 years, cutting 450 jobs and liquidating the inventory from its 23 New England stores, an official said yesterday.
The Norwood-based company was unable to recover after seeking protection from creditors under a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in December, said Chief Financial Officer Kenneth F. Rogers. Bed & Bath managers had hoped to reorganize the company and emerge reinvigorated, but could not.
"The Christmas season was really difficult," he said. "We had no other choice."
A liquidator will be chosen today in Bankruptcy Court, Rogers said. Atlantic Properties in Waltham will try to find other ...
