Age has always been a great definer in the characters that legendary actress Julie Harris has brought to life.
If you allow for the passage of the decades, during which Harris has earned more Tony nominations (10) and awards (five) for best actress than anyone else, it's no surprise that she is still finding roles that represent a statement about the human condition.
Now 73, she's playing senior citizen Fonsia Dorsey in D.L Coburn's dark-hued comedy, "The Gin Game." Her co-star in the two-person show is Charles Durning, a veteran of more than 200 plays, 60 movies and countless TV shows.The show opens at the Wilbur Theatre on Tuesday for a two-week run.
