PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The local MINISTRY OF MARITIME TRANSPORT recently awarded a contract to build harbour walls to an Italian/Egyptian joint venture. The partners in the planned undertaking include Italy- based RODIO and the local ARABIAN INTERNATIONAL CONSTRUCTION (AIC).

According to the terms of the award, the partnership will be responsible for building dock walls for the new East Port Said container terminal. Construction work will involve building 1.2 kms of walls including 2-40 meter ends. The walls in question will reportedly be sunk to a depth of 16.5 meters.

The cost of the planned infrastructure works has been pegged at $60,000,000. ...
