With successful operations firmly established in Texas and Arizona and plans to enter New Mexico in January, Compass Bancshares, Inc. (Nasdaq:CBSS) today announced it will continue its westward expansion into Denver, Colorado with a definitive agreement to acquire MegaBank Financial Corporation (Nasdaq:MBFC).
Compass will enter Colorado with nine full-service MegaBank offices in metropolitan Denver. Empire Title & Escrow Corporation, a subsidiary of MegaBank Financial Corporation, operates six offices in the Denver area and Fort Collins.
