INDIANAPOLIS, Nov. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- American Trans Air, Inc. (ATA), the principal subsidiary of Amtran, Inc. (Nasdaq: AMTR), today reported its October 1999 traffic results.

System-wide for October 1999, compared with a year ago: revenue passenger miles (RPMs) increased 21.6 to 881.2 million; available seat miles (ASMs) increased 14.2 to 1.23 billion; and total block hours flown increased 14.1 to 14,506.

In scheduled service for the current month, as compared with October 1998: RPMs increased 16.0 to 533.7 million; ASMs increased 10.3 to 714.8 million; and passenger load factor increased 3.7 points to 74.7.
