WASHINGTON, Nov. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Flight attendants who fly for American Trans Air are holding a rally to highlight their fight for better pay at San Francisco Airport on Tuesday, November 9, 1999.

"We've helped make this a successful airline," said Steven Simmons, president of the Association of Flight Attendants' Council 37. "We want our fair share."

ATA, the nation's largest charter airline, pays newly-hired flight attendants poverty-level wages, forcing some flight attendants to work two or three jobs to make ends meet. ATA, which raked in $40.1 million last year, pays first-year flight attendants $14,283.
