The American Bar Association's business law section will ask ABA delegates early next year to reconsider the proposed ethics rule prohibiting pay-to-play practices that they voted down in August, a key proponent of the rule said this week.

"The business law section, with cosponsorship, will be reintroducing the resolution" at an upcoming meeting in Dallas, Barbara Mendel Mayden, a lawyer with Bass Berry and Sims in Nashville and a member of the business law section, said late Monday.

The delegates are expected to hold the one-day meeting on Feb. 14, according to ABA staff officials.
