According to Conaf, the Chilean wood exports are predicted to reach US$1.9bil this year. The sector's exports grew 17.2% between January and September, 1998 and the same period of this year, to US$1.442bil. The Arauco group held a 21.7% share of the national exports until last September by generating US$313mil revenues.
