REDLANDS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 15, 1999--
The National Geographic Society, the Association of American Geographers (AAG) and ESRI Monday announced that a national GIS Day event will be held Nov. 19, 1999, in Washington, D.C.
The celebration at National Geographic's headquarters will be attended by area elementary school students who will learn about the importance of geography and geographic information system (GIS) technology and the impact they have on their daily lives.
