Nov. 13 -- Rhode Island's health-insurance crisis took a turn for the worse yesterday, when an announcement in Massachusetts suddenly put an additional 57,000 people in danger of losing their current coverage.
The Massachusetts division of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care notified employers that it was unlikely the company would contract with Rhode Island providers after Dec. 31, and advised them to transfer their employees to another health plan.
The 57,000 affected people are subscribers to the Massachusetts division of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care because they work for Massachusetts-based companies. But they ...
