There's A Big Drop In The Price Of Stock Footage

A few years ago I was working on a video project and thought I could use some stock footage. I was looking for what should have been common footage such as Alaskan glaciers and Hawaiian volcanoes. After a few calls to the usual stock footage suspects, I found the footage that I could use. And this is where this happy story turns sad. The typical cost for the footage was $30 per second of footage, minimum of 15 seconds, with some amazing restrictions on usage.
