Nov. 17 -- A campaign has been launched by a secretive circle of carpetbaggers to collect enough signatures to force seven of the country's largest building societies to table demutualisation resolutions before tougher rules are brought in on 1 December.
The carpetbaggers, who refuse to reveal their true identities for fear of reprisals from the building societies they are targeting, launched the drive to collect signatures through a website www.carpetbagger.com this week.
