Oct. 18 -- By summer, a subsidiary of Atlanta-based United Parcel Service will open a distribution and technology center near Alliance Airport that eventually could employ almost 1,000 people.
Besides providing rapid- response warehouse services for high-tech, electronics and apparel manufacturers, the 320,000-square-foot facility will be the headquarters for Latin American operations of UPS Worldwide Logistics, a unit of UPS Logistics Group.
UPS bought 18 acres from Ross Perot Jr.'s Hillwood Development Corp. and it also has an option on 80 adjacent acres for planned development of a multibuilding campus that ...
