A permanent exhibit in Arlington, Va., should remind Americans that many parts of the world still lack basic freedoms and the leadership necessary to achieve them, according to a former secretary of state.
"Freedom of speech, freedom of press, freedom of religion, freedom of association: These remain mere dreams in far too many places around the world," James A. Baker III said Sept. 23 at the dedication of the Newseum's collection of eight sections of the Berlin Wall and an East German guard tower that stood less than a mile from Checkpoint Charlie.
