PHP Shows a Managed Care Plan, The Summit Care Plan,
Can Prevent Costly Nursing Home Stays for the Elderly
BOCA RATON, Fla., Nov. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Physicians Healthcare Plans, Inc. (PHP) today announced it has been chosen by the Florida Department of Elder Affairs and the Agency for Healthcare Administration to administer a pilot managed care program focused on keeping frail elderly out of the nursing home. Called Summit Care Plan, PHP is one of two HMOs in the state to win a contract.
