New orders to Swedish industry increased by 8.0 per cent from August to September, according to preliminary estimates from Statistics Sweden. This reflected a 16.8 per cent rise in the export market and a 1.6 per cent decline in the domestic market. The steep increase in the export market should be viewed with the comparatively low level of new orders in July and August in mind.
