Grandma's house gets a 21st-century makeover.
Designed to reflect bygone seaside communities of northeast Florida, Amelia Park, on Amelia Island, combines traditional land planning and historically inspired architecture. Builder Bryan Lendry, president of Ponte Vedra Beach-based Brylen Homes, says that the town is the perfect setting for the concept. "It already had all of the amenities, including good schools, a YMCA, and retail."
Amelia Park is Lendry's first TND, and he admits to a fair amount of trepidation. "The upfront money was substantial, and the plans were so specific that I couldn't just take them to another community," he says. Lendry credits the ...
