George Washington coach Tom Penders changed his pivot in Alaska.
Senior Francisco de Miranda now starts over 7-foot sophomore Albert Roma. Penders inserted de Miranda at center two games ago at the Top of the World Classic in Fairbanks and insists his lineup change is strictly cosmetic.
"We're going to have a three-headed center all year," Penders said. "This team [South Florida tonight at the Smith Center] has a center [Scott Johnson] who steps out and shoots a 3 unlike any big guy we're going to see all year. I don't know if Albert can handle him on the perimeter. We'll try 'Cisco first when we're manning, and we'll be prepared to play some zone." ...
