A THREE-MEMBER DELEGATION FROM Venezuela's National Constituent Assembly recently roared through four U.S. cities in four days to sell decision-makers on the New Venezuela. Isaias Rodriguez, the body's first vice president, Claudio Eloy Fermin Maldonado, an independent member, and Ricardo Combellas, an official party member, were pushing three big ideas: a) the Constituent Assembly is a legitimate institution; b) democracy reigns in Venezuela--no left-wing dictatorship developing here; and c) the country is simply undergoing a non-violent process of reforming old and corrupt institutions.
