A consumer walking onto a bedding floor at retail typically is confounded by an arena of boxes -- until she notices the ticking. Then the dance begins. If the ticking is attractive, the sale is that much more likely to close. Not surprisingly, then, ticking gets special consideration from bedding retailers and manufacturers.
And increasingly, these manufacturers are relying more heavily on ticking suppliers -- such as Culp, Burlington House, Bekaert and Blumenthal -- to create a style hook that will draw the buyer to their "box."
