Dec. 3 -- DALLAS -- Two major Dallas-area oil industry operations and hundreds of local jobs are falling victim to the merger of Exxon Corp. and Mobil Corp.
Exxon Mobil Corp., formed this week when the mammoth merger received final regulatory approval, said Thursday that it planned to close two units bc formerly operated by Mobil ec -- Mobil New Exploration and Producing U.S. Inc. in Dallas and Mobil Research and Development Corp. in Farmers Branch.
The merger moved about 2,200 Dallas-area Mobil workers into the Exxon Mobil fold, including 550 at the Farmers Branch center. Although some work in downtown ...
