South Australia and Victoria today won eight out of 10 categories in the 1999 national Active Australia Awards presented at Parliament House in Canberra. The remaining two Awards went to New South Wales and Western Australia.

South Australia's winners were:

The Active Australia Local Government Award -- The City of Salisbury

Club Organisation Award (Local) -- Glenelg Football Club

Club Organisation Award (State) -- Blue Light
