LONDON HOSTED TWO TRADE SHOWS this fall, 100% Design and Focus 99, as well as several alternative design fetes. Designers Block 99 was held under the old railway arches at Bishopsgate Goodsyard on Bricks Lane; Babylon Design opened shop on Fulham Road; and Westbourne Grove entertained a few parties, including one by Christopher Farr. The latest Ian Shrager hotel, St. Martin's Lane, and the fashionable My Hotel Bloomsbury by CD Partnership housed editors from all over the world. Diners seemed to prefer the Sugar Club, Bluebird, and Lindsey House, though there was a special toast one night for New York City Mayor Guiliani at Damien Hirst's Pharmacy.
