The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority named four senior managers for its financing team Friday, in a first step to re-shape itself as an independent authority.
The co-senior managers include PaineWebber Inc., Bear, Stearns & Co., Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, and Lehman Brothers. PaineWebber will run the books on the first deal the new syndicate prices, sometime after July 1, 2000. Goldman, Sachs & Co., and Merrill Lynch & Co., which were senior managers in the authority's last syndicate, were not included.
The four firms were among approximately 35 firms that submitted written proposals. The MBTA interviewed eight firms.
