Dec. 7 -- THIRTY-NINE-YEAR-OLD ED ROSE, who has grown up -- literally -- with Shelco Inc. will become chief executive of the Charlotte-based general contractor on Jan. 1.
"Naming Ed to the CEO position was the natural next step," said Ed Shelton, a director and owner of the company he founded in Winston-Salem in 1978 with his brother Charlie. "We have complete confidence in his leadership."
Rose, currently president and chief operating officer, joined Shelco as assistant project manager in 1983, five months out of N.C. State University.
