Given our readership's long-standing admiration of Hewlett-Packard's DeskJet line of color printers, it's no surprise that they selected the $275 HP DeskJet 882C as the inkjet to get.
Like most of HP's newer DeskJets, the 882C incorporates HP's ColorSmart II and PhotoREt II technologies, which enhance the detail and subtlety of color output by mixing as many as 16 different-size ink droplets to create each printed dot. The printer also boasts dual USB and parallel interfaces, a robust 2MB internal buffer, and a generous software bundle, as well as the ability to produce great-looking output on inexpensive plain paper.
