SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 7, 1999--

Pacific Gas and Electric Company and San Francisco City Attorney Louise Renne today announced a $1.1 million tentative settlement for economic losses sustained by the city as a result of the Dec. 8, 1998, power outage.

According to the terms of the tentative settlement, Pacific Gas and Electric Company officials will meet with city engineers to discuss long-term reliability issues in San Francisco. The tentative settlement is subject to approval by the Board of Supervisors.
