Whether it's a return to hippie, surf, or just another creative use of color, tie-dye trends are back for summer 2000, making a splash in a variety of jeans collections. Also popular is a more subtle version of tie-dye -- dip-dye.
"I'm seeing a lot of the tie-dye, bleach effect," said Tim Bess, young men's specialist for The Doneger Group. "Believe it or not, the number one sweater in young men's right now is a dip-dye look. Because we're back to a fashion bottoms cycle, the progression has been to add color and make the product visually exciting."
