During the night, apart from routine traffic, Clyde Coastguard were informed of two incidents which they are closely monitoring.
At 00:40 crew from the `European Highlander', the 5897 gross registered tonne (grt) Bahamian-registered ro-ro ferry which regularly runs across the Irish sea between Larne and Ardrossan informed the Coastguard that during poor weather the vessel had gone aground just inside the entrance to Ardrossan harbour. The seas are presently moderate to rough.
