According to North Africa Journal, on December 1, 1999, the British Foreign Office Minister Mr. Peter Hain said his country is seeking a bigger share of trade with Morocco, a market which he said offered great potential for British firms. Hain told a news conference after talks with Moroccan government officials that the volume of two-way trade between the two countries rose almost fivefold between 1997 and 1998. Britain is the third largest investor and trading partner with Morocco after France and the United States. Hain said Britain welcomed the reforms pledged by Morocco's new King Mohammed VI and his Socialist Prime Minister El-Youssoufi. These reforms are gaining ...
