Dec. 15 -- CORONA, Calif. -- Wal-Mart, the nation's largest retailer, will open its first California in-store bank branches next year, including one at a remodeled outlet in Corona.
Whittier-based Quaker City Federal Savings and Loan will open three mini-branches inside Wal-Marts in Southern California. Besides the Corona location -- Quaker City's first in the Inland Empire -- branches are targeted for Lakewood and the Porter Ranch area in the San Fernando Valley.
Wal-Mart is no stranger to in-store banking, with 513 branches in its 2,485 stores nationwide.
