The Instituto Mexicano Del Petroleo (IMP) and Symyx Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:SMMX) today announced that IMP has purchased an initial module of Symyx' Discovery Tools(TM) Heterogeneous Catalysis System.
In addition, IMP has an option to purchase a second module within the next 12 months. This is the first sale of a Symyx heterogeneous catalysis system; Symyx completed the sale of a polyolefins Discovery Tools System to the Dow Chemical Company in November, 1999.
