Venezuelan voters on Wednesday approved a new 350-article constitution that significantly changes the governance of the country with the largest oil reserves in the Western Hemisphere.

Seventy-two percent of voters voted for the document, which was drafted in just over three months by a special constitutional assembly elected in July (TOD July27,p1).
