Around half of the young people leaving unemployment would not have done so without the New Deal, according to new independent research published today.
Employment Minister Tessa Jowell added: "This reports provides encouraging evidence of the early impact of the New Deal. It stresses that the New Deal nearly pays for itself because of the additional activity which generates tax revenues.
