MANHATTAN -- Saturday mornings used to mean cereal and cartoons for many kids in Manhattan. However, thanks to the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine, on some Saturday mornings, there is an alternative.

Veterinary students at the College of Veterinary Medicine at K-State started a new five-month mentoring program this year for students in the local junior high schools. The program consists of several Saturday morning sessions throughout the school year.
