The Chilean fish meals and oils exports totaled US$265.9mil between January and October, 1999, a 17.4% decrease in comparison with the same period of 1998. The exports volume rose 29.5%, to 596,000 tons. Copec's fishing company Igemar (Pesquera Iquique-Guanaye) was the major exporter over that period (13.8% of the total) by exporting US$36.6mil (21% decrease).
