Little noticed amid the latest Middle East crisis involving Iraq, one of the world's largest ethnic groups without a country finds itself once again in the middle of power politics and regional conflict.
Only weeks ago, thousands of Kurds flocked to northern Iraq, hoping to cross into Turkey if the United States began military strikes against Iraq.
