The attention of soccer fans around the world this summer will be on France, but in the United States Major League Soccer will be in full swing.
For the first time, a national first division league will be in action while the World Cup is being contested, from June 10 to July 12. That means MLS can expect sagging attendance and television ratings.
But there's a positive side, too. Commissioner Doug Logan and D.C. United general manager Kevin Payne think MLS actually will benefit from the World Cup?
