BALTIMORE - The effort required to take two of three games from the vaunted New York Yankees must have been too great for a typical 24-hour recovery period. Given a chance to solidify their position in third place of the American League East with a four-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays, the Baltimore Orioles instead came up as flat as they have been all season last night.
Managing zero offense until the Blue Jays were safely ahead, the Orioles dropped a 13-6 decision before 47,374 at Camden Yards. Baltimore also fell a full game behind third-place Toronto in the American League East and must face 1997 Cy Young Award winner Roger Clemens tonight.
