SALISBURY, Md. - Then there's the one about Frank Treschock, an otherwise anonymous shortstop who hit one over the shirt factory roof in 1937. The ball flew so far, it landed on Vine Street and ultimately ricocheted off Irvan Sullivan's porch.
"They were talking about 450 [feet] - at least," drifts the raspy voice of Archie Colona, who's on duty tonight in the Eastern Shore Baseball museum at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. He smiles again, happy to have an ear for his myriad stories.
Colona is 78. He has been married so long - 56 years - that his marriage license ...
