Dec. 23--A Fairbanks company has been awarded a contract from BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc. to fabricate a drilling waste disposal facility for the new Northstar oil field, BP said.
H.C. Price Co. will build a dozen modules in Fairbanks for the facility, then truck them to the North Slope in August, BP said. The facility was designed by Quadco Inc. and Coffman Engineers, both of Anchorage. Work on the modules will begin in mid-February, BP said.
Quadco is handling procurement for the project, and will obtain components from Alaska suppliers, BP said. For example, Steelfab of Anchorage will provide the structural steel for the modules. Portions of the ...
