Running a boat is never as easy as it looks
I'm no rocket scientist, but I do know a little about physics and the laws of motion. So when the big sportfisherman came storming back into the slip at 6 knots, I quickly jumped up from the low water dock to avoid being drowned by the tsunami coming straight at me. The captain, who was facing aft as many do when backing into a slip, noted his vessel's velocity and with a quick flip of the controls poured on more power when he accidentally mistook the throttle for the clutch.
