HIGH-PROFILE PARK ON FAST-FOOD STRIP
The city plans to develop a neighborhood park on a small but high-profile site at the northeast corner of State Street and Chicago Avenue. Officials say the land, occupied by a strip of fast-food restaurants and parking lots and located near Holy Name Cathedral and Loyola University's Water Tower Campus, is needed to provide open space in the densely populated area. Construction could begin by the end of 2000.
