House prosecutors yesterday asked the Senate to subpoena Monica Lewinsky, presidential friend Vernon E. Jordan Jr. and White House aide Sidney Blumenthal as witnesses, a move Minority Leader Tom Daschle says is now inevitable.
The prosecutors also asked the Senate to "request the appearance" of President Clinton, but his spokesman said "the president has no intention of testifying again."
"The story needs to be told. The truth should be determined," Rep. Asa Hutchinson, Arkansas Republican and one of 13 House prosecutors, told the Senate. "That is done not through lawyers up here talking [but] through witnesses."
