France-based THOMSON MULTIMEDIA, a subsidiary of the THOMSON GROUP, recently announced that it was planning to increase its very large screen color television tube production capacity. In so doing, the company is proposing to invest $200,000,000 in Mexicali, Baja California, on Mexico's northern border with California.

As a result, the French company has now awarded a plant construction contract to the local ICA-FLUOR DANIEL.
