Jan. 13--Property taxes and inheritance taxes will be among the issues South Dakota farm groups will watch closely in the 2000 legislative session.
Mike Held, the South Dakota Farm Bureau's administrative director, said his group will push for changes in the way farmland is valued for property tax purposes.
"Our top legislative priority will be to change the assessment of ag land so that it's based on productivity or income-generating capacity," he said.
