Jan. 13--Precision Response Corp. announced Wednesday that the sprawling South Florida company will be sold for $608 million in stock to USA Networks, the media empire controlled by Barry Diller.
The deal marries the high-tech customer service know-how of Precision Response with the sales and marketing expertise of USA's Home Shopping Network and Ticketmaster.
Precision Response executives said they will gain access to USA's sales channels, high-profile client list and extensive customer database. Both companies will benefit, they said, from being able to offer a full array of turnkey commerce services to the burgeoning number of Internet startups.
